This week Easton and I have been a bit more adventurous! We've been developing some recipes and even photographing them… which was quite the endeavor! You really never realize how often you use your hands when you're holding your baby in one arm and snapping photos with the other. We ate simply this week which made me very thankful for Meals Made Simple because it helped me out quite a bit!
A baby sleeping on their hands will forever be the cutest thing to me. He looks like such a little old man.
I've recently been corndog testing for a fun little project for the blog! Those first few tries were rough (as you can see, the hot oil blew off the batter haha!) but we altered the batter a bit and ended up with a winner. The recipe will be up next week and I have both a nut-free and regular version for you!
Like I said, we ate simply! Applegate Farms sausage, Farmhouse Culture kraut, and a yummy salad topped with my Dairy-Free Ranch Dressing from Meals Made Simple on page 247!

I've been snacking a lot recently and these Spicy Almonds are just hitting the spot! These are the almonds from my Thai Shrimp Salad with Spicy Almond Dressing. And this kombucha is seriously the best I've ever had… so good!!
I caved a little bit this week… I thoroughly enjoyed these fries! My excuse is that I was sick, low on sleep, and I'm nursing. I'm sure I could have come up with a dozen more excuses 🙂
It was take your baby to work day! Bring your baby to work day. I've been thankful for this 4moms bouncer that keeps E happy and even makes him doze off to sleep.
We're testing a rendition of my Great Grandma Sarella's biscotti for #aagbook3 today! You all know her incredible spaghetti sauce from book 1 ?

I added some leftover tamarind glaze to my Thai Shrimp Salad with Spicy Almond Butter Dressing and it was SO good! A little tangy, a little spicy, and a little sweet. Find the recipe here!
My “big” boys had a special weekend away so I was able to shower, do my hair, makeup, and eat a meal all while my youngest boy was sleeping! I feel like a new woman haha!

I love your meals made simple cookbook! I have a lot of cookbooks, many paleo, but I really find myself reaching for yours the most! The recipes are really easy and delicious, and I have made some of the basic things so often (salad dressings, yum!). Thanks for such a great resource, makes my weekdays easier.
Danielle
Thank you Kristie!

I have a daughter in college out of state who needs to follow a paleo diet and I mail down your muffins but she needs snacks that can be mailed via FedEx overnight. She is allergic to almonds so any suggestions would have to be almond free.

Hi Holly-
Yes, we love it! I think every baby is different but baby E loves it!

I was making crockpot chicken broth for the 2nd time and again the broth evaporated?? I guess my crockpot is faulty? The first time I choose high for 12 hours and got 6 cups. Then this time I choose low for 24 and got less stock. Any thoughts?
Danielle
Oh crazy! I’ve never heard of that happening. Maybe somethings wrong with your crockpot?

Hmm, I googled it and I guess I will check my temp before buying a new crockpot. 4 quarts of water at low or high for 6 hours should read 195 or 205 degrees. It also mentioned my lid should seal. Mine in does not seal??
